The last 5 days have continued to work nicely in our demonstration markets — these are by no means the only markets or timeframes that can be traded, but they give you a good idea of what CAN be traded — the options are many:

Russell e-Mini this morning hit a long @ 726.60 and ended up with +14 points on that trade – in 20 minutes. For many, that’s a highly successful week but we caught a perfect trade to start the day. Dax Futures are long right now from 6967, just a moment ago hitting a +30 point target @ 6997. Crude Oil just finished a huge move to the shot side. The EURUSD is a split decision this morning with 2nd trade short doing better. More trades to come but off to an excellent start once again today…

(UPDATED: The Russell ended with 14 points on trade #1, another +5.1 Points on the second trade and there was even a third trade in the afternoon with +6.60 points. Just the first two were worth $1,910 before commissions. We’ll take it! See the screenshot below. Remember the DAX trade from above? It hit its target at 7013 and that traded ended with 75 points using 2 contracts – which is over $2,500 USD — you can see the potential now right?)

Since we started tracking the UMT Simple Plan for you last week, we’ve focused on the same 6 markets to keep it consistent. In this case we have representation from forex and futures. We’re working on getting you the past week’s results in each of the 6 markets we’ve been tracking since the UMT Simple unveiled. We’ll have it all posted on Thursday but just to hold you over take a look at the Russell e-Mini over 5 days:

21 Winning Trades – 8 Losing Trades = 72% Win Ratio

If you include break-even trades which means they went at least to the 1x target, that’s actually 78% of the trades putting you “in the money” — and even better? The gross points gained was:

+49.80 Points ($100 per point on the Russell)

Yes, you need to figure in some slippage on entry, and commissions but that’s just a small part of this stellar performance had you taken the set-ups as we’ve defined. Isn’t it nice when something “Simple” does this nice?  By the way, this was not the exception – you’ll see in our next update how the Dax, EURUSD, Crude Oil, Soybeans, Stocks, etc… all matched up.

One great benefit of the UMT Simple Plan is the ability to track and trade more than one market at a time. Since the set-ups are so straightforward and very visual – it’s not a difficult task by any measure to track and trade 2, 4, 6, 8 markets at a time. You certainly have the flexibility to trade just one, but it’s nice to know that you can actually diversify and trade more markets and timeframes. This video shows you an example of a futures workspace (Russell, S&P, Dow and Dax), Forex (6 major currency pairs) and Stocks (6 stock charts) and you’ll see that it’s not complicated to add additional opportunities to your trading everyday.

We have continued the run of good trading conditions for most of the markets we’re tracking. It’s the ideal mix since we’re seeing very clear set-ups on the buy and sell side, which is the idea with the Simple Plan. It’s quick to learn – which is key. You’ll be trading it successfully much quicker than before.

Even more important, is seeing how it reacts after a losing trade. Sure, we enjoy focusing on the winners, and you’ve seen plenty of them but no trading strategy survives without limiting losses, and without coming back strong from a loss. This is real trading — but, we know with our avg. win/avg. loss ratio above 1.50 and the win/loss ratio coming in strong we’re set-up to handle the wins AND the losses.

For example, on Monday the Russell lost its first trade — after that it had 3 winners and 1 break-even. The Crude markets were choppier on Monday and came in negative for us — today in 30 minutes we were done with 2 winners that swamped the prior day’s losses.

The lesson? It’s the bottom line profits that count. And, it’s how you get there. Avoid the larger drawdowns, quickly recover and have a strategy that is consistent enough and simple enough to execute upon.

Friday trading for the UMT Simple continued to be quite good. The star markets on the day that we are tracking:

Russell e-Mini (+16 points), EURUSD (+88 pips), Dax (+120 points), Soybeans (+34 points). The only real dog was Crude Oil (-1.29) though just a portion of what it made on Thursday. 89T would have done far better on Crude this time. Works out that way sometime.

The video today we’ll show you the Russell in some detail, including a discussion of what to do when you have a larger than average risk on a trade. Speaking of the Russell, with +26 points in two days you can see there can be power even in simplicity.

Keep in mind the markets and timeframes we are showing are just scratching the surface of what you can do. Don’t forget you stock traders – the UMT Simple is very compelling on stocks as well!
